Adobe Intends to Launch Illustrator for iPad in 2020, ‘All-in’ on Photoshop for iPad

A report from last week claimed that Adobe still intends to launch Photoshop for iPad before the end of this year. It further claimed that the app was rudimentary in nature and not a full-fledged replacement of the desktop version that many users were hoping for. John Gruber from Daring Fireball has provided more information about Photoshop for iPad and how it is the real deal.

Gruber says that Adobe is “all-in” on Photoshop for iPad with the company is viewing it as a “serious, top-shelf project for creative professionals.”

The team of engineers working on it has grown significantly from a year ago, and they have plans to add features iteratively on an aggressive schedule. It’s reasonable to be disappointed that it isn’t further along feature-count-wise, but anyone who cares about Photoshop for iPad as a long-term product should be very excited about its foundation, direction, and the attention Adobe is paying to the fine details of a touch-first Photoshop UI.

The initial version of Photoshop CC for iPad will miss out on a number of key features. However, since it will feature the same code base and rendering engine as the desktop app, it will be able to open any PSDs files created on a PC. After the initial release, Adobe will start working on the UI and add more features to the app. The company has an aggressive timeline in terms of adding features to Photoshop for iPad, though bringing in all the features from the desktop app to the iPad is still going to take some time.

Another report from Bloomberg claims that Adobe will launch Illustrator for the iPad in 2020. The company will preview the app on the device at its upcoming Max conference in November. It did something similar last year when it previewed Photoshop for iPad and set a release of 2019 for it.

Adobe understands that most of its users are looking to ditch their laptops and work on something more portable while on the go. The iPad Pro with its powerful internals and long battery life is that device which is why Adobe is trying to bring its desktop apps to the platform. Also Read:Download Korean Dramas For Free in 2019

Teardown Reveals iPhone 11 Pro Max Is Estimated to Cost Apple Only $490.50 to Make

iPhones has often drawn criticism for being very expensive or unaffordable. A recent analysis by TechInsights breaks down the price for each component of the iPhone 11 Pro Max and does a tally of the same.
The 6.5-inch display on the iPhone 11 Pro costs roughly $66.50. Meanwhile, the battery procured from Samsung costs around $10.50. Apple has been touting the triple rear camera setup on iPhone 11 Pro Max and this costs $73.50 for Apple. Other major costs include a processor, modem and storage which come up to $159. That apart the PCB’s, wiring and other minor things cost another $181.
This means it costs Apple $490.50 to make iPhone 11 Pro Max, however, the device is currently sold for more than $1000. If you feel that Apple is charging double the money and making profits, think again. The $490 doesn’t include money required by the company to market the iPhone. Moreover, they spend considerably on R&D and employee salaries. Taking into account all the factors we are pretty sure that the iPhone 11 Pro Max costs more than $490.50 to make.
The infographics above show parts breakdown for iPhone 11 Pro Max. It is also worth noting that the research firm adds a disclaimer that reads “all cost estimates provided here are compiled using the information available to us at the time of the initial teardown. Some assumptions have been made where concrete data is not yet available.”

Our Take

Teardowns are a great way to understand how a device is built and the exact hardware specifications. Typically we wait for iFixit teardown to know iPhone specifications every year. This is because Apple keeps some specifications under the wrap during launch events. Furthermore, we also get to know details about new features like the U1 chip. Also Read:How do I know if someone viewed my WhatsApp profile

Galaxy Note 10 Headphone Dongle Leak Confirms Samsung Users Worst Fears

Until now Samsung didn’t have the ‘courage’ to ditch 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of USB Type-C. This time around things seems to have changed with the upcoming Galaxy Note 10. According to leaks and renders, the Galaxy Note 10 will not come with a headphone jack.

Samsung is one of the very few smartphone manufacturers that still offers a 3.5mm audio jack for its flagship phones. If the rumors turn out to be true, then the Galaxy Note 10 will be the first Samsung flagship phone to ditch 3.5mm headphone jack. Backing the rumors is an image of a headphone dongle for Galaxy Note 10.

One of the most obvious reasons to remove headphone jack is the space it consumes. Samsung is expected to save a lot of space by using Type-C USB and this is helpful for incorporating slimmer bezels and the S-Pen. That being said we are not sure if you have to buy dongle as an accessory or whether it will be bundled along the Galaxy Note 10. It is also worth noting that Samsung has removed the headphone jack on the recently launched Galaxy Tab S6.Read Next:ipad home button not working

The company recently announced a special $600 trade-in scheme for pre-ordering Galaxy Note 10. According to Samsung, Galaxy Note 10 will be available on August 23. Going by the leaks and renders, the latest from the Note series is expected to arrive with improved S-Pen and more productivity features that take advantage of the S-Pen. The device is scheduled to be released on August 7 and is likely to be available in a new Pink Shade. Do you miss the 3.5mm audio jack on your iPhone? Let us know in the comments below.

How to Create Custom iMessage Profile on iPhone in iOS 13

The Messages app in iOS 13 is getting a WhatsApp style custom contact profile feature. It gives you a separate place where you can have a different name and display picture (which won’t be related to your iCloud account). Now when someone doesn’t have your details in your contact book, they’ll still be able to see your name and photo (and you can are in complete control of who to share this details with). Here’s how you can create a custom iMessage profile in iOS 13.
Create Custom iMessage Profile on iPhone in iOS 13

When you first launch the Messages app in iOS 13, you’ll see a new pop-up asking if you want to create a new profile in the Messages app. But if you’ve missed that part, you can go to Settings to create the profile later.

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2: Tap on Messages.

Step 3: Tap on Share Name and Photo button.

Step 4: You’ll now be asked to choose your profile picture. You can choose a Memoji avatar that you’ve already created, your iCloud profile picture or an Animoji character. Tap on All Photos to choose a photo from the camera roll. If you want to take a new picture, tap on the camera button.

Step 5: On the next screen, you can edit the photo. You can scale it to fit into the circular frame. Tap on the Choose button once you’re done.

Step 6: Next, it’s all about the details. Tap on the fields next to the profile picture to enter your first and last name. Then turn on the toggle next to the Share Name and Photo option. read more:top paid android games

Step 7: The last thing to choose is who to share this data with. There are three options: Contacts Only, Always Ask and Anyone. It’s best to keep these details to Contacts Only, or anyone who gets your number from a spam directory and messages you will instantly see your display picture and your name. The Always Ask option gives you the most control over who sees this data but it can be tedious to go through at the beginning of every conversation.
How the Custom iMessage Profile Works

This feature will now behave based on the options you’ve chosen in the last step.

If you choose the Always Ask option, you’ll see a small banner at the top of a new conversation asking if you want to share the contact details with the other person (or persons in the group chat). If you choose Contacts Only or Anyone, you don’t have to do anything going forward.

How to Use the New Photos Tab in iOS 13

Apple has been steadily improving its stock Photos app in recent years to make viewing pictures on the iPhone and iPad easier and more fulfilling. iOS 13continues that trend with several welcome enhancements, one of which is a redesigned Photostab.

In previous versions of iOS, you could view all your photos by day, month, and year, but the bigger the time window you selected, the smaller your pictures appeared. Thankfully, iOS 13 changes all that by adopting preview panes in the Photos tab that give you an overview of pictures taken together during the same day, month, and year.

You can choose between the Years, Months, Days, and All Photos views using the button overlay that appears just above the main tabs at the bottom of the screen. In the Years view, each year is displayed as a pane that will automatically flip through an overview of each month. Alternatively, you can swipe across panes to quickly flip through the months manually.

Try swiping up to previous years and then tapping one of them, and you should see photos taken at around the same time of year. For instance, if it's June and you tap the 2017 tab, you'll see photos that were taken in June of 2017.

Notice that when you tap on a year, the view will switch to the Months view. Likewise, tap on a month, and the the panes will change to the Days view.

Whichever pane view you select, the Photos app combines metadata information and intelligent algorithms to highlight picture titles and photos taken in the same location. It can even match things like concert performances, holidays, and more, so you know where your photos were taken.

In all of these views, you'll see a circle containing an ellipsis in the top-right corner of each pane. Tap this circle to reveal additional options like Play Movie, Share, and Show Map. If you swipe up on these options you may also see any People you know that appear in the pictures.

It's worth noting that the new Photos tab is still separate from the For You section that Apple introduced in iOS 12. For You still focuses on aggregating content from multiple dates like beach days, trips, specific people, pets, and more, but the Photos tab organizes them chronologically around specific dates. This makes the redesigned Photos tab a great accompaniment to the For You tab, as both help you discover your best memories and make browsing your photo library a more enjoyable experience.
